The Kitayama Brothers started our first flower farm in 1948. An immigrant family, our founders fell in love with the San Francisco Bay area and we’ve been here ever since. While we also once had operations in Washington and Colorado, we’ve always stayed true to our California roots.
About 6 months ago, I took on the position of running the Kitayama Group which includes KB Farms and Greenleaf Wholesale Florist. This has been a huge challenge for me but one I feel uniquely qualified to undertake. I am excited about the work, the people, the challenges, and the opportunities, and I feel very fortunate to be a northern California flower grower.
To celebrate International Women's Day, the staff at KB Farms spread out across Santa Cruz County and donated Gerbera Daises to women in need of a colorful boost.
We are committed to sustainable energy. As a result, we have partnered with Jacobs Farm and Soliculture to test greenhouse solar panel technology. An important step into a renewable future.
